About Briana Wong, BA, M.Div, Ph.D.
Briana L. Wong is Wake Forest University School of Divinity’s Visiting Assistant Professor of World Christianity and Louisville Institute Postdoctoral Fellow. Originally from northern California, she has lived in Montreal, Quebec; Kent, Washington; New York, New York; Princeton, New Jersey; and now, Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She earned her BA in history and French from Columbia University, followed by an M.Div and a Ph.D. in World Christianity and History of Religions from Princeton Theological Seminary. Briana’s academic work centers on Christianity in the Global South, particularly Southeast Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa. Alongside her research and writing, she takes great delight in her role as a teacher of future ministers, seeking to help them grow in their relationships with God as they continue to discern their callings. Briana is passionate about the biblical mandate for justice and encourages her students to live into God’s heart for those on the margins. In her free time, she enjoys reading, indoor rock climbing, and exploring nature.
